The official release of macOS Catalina is coming out filled with new features and performance improvements, some additions from iOS, and best of all - the Dark Mode. The success of Dark Mode largely depends on third-party developers and their efforts on designing dark themes to their applications (App Can't Be Opened Because Apple Cannot Check It for Malicious Software.). The good news is, a handful of popular developers have done just that on Mojave launch day. Give a check to see what’s the best macOS Mojave apps with Dark Mode that we like most.
#1 - 1Password 7 for Mac
1Password 7 for Mac has an incredibly successful launch right after Apple introduced macOS Mojave. Our first thought on 1Password 7 (dark theme) is slick and native (iMessage and FaceTime Waiting for Activation). The new sidebar was also redesigned to show you all your accounts and vaults and make it easier than ever to organize the information you have saved in 1Password.
#2 - Ulysses
Popular writing app Ulysses is also being updated to coincide with the release of macOS Mojave (and iOS 12) last week, introducing support for new features in Apple's latest desktop and mobile operating systems. Since the initial release of Mojave, a Dark Mode has been part of Ulysses, but the new update introduces a reworked and fine-tuned version to fit with the new system requirements.
#3 - Bear
Bear has always had a variety of light and dark themes for users who shell out for a subscription. Among other things, this week's update adds a new "dark graphite" theme that the app automatically switches to when you enable Dark Mode (What Is Other On Mac Storage). Because Bear already supported multiple themes, though, you can use a lighter theme while your Mac is set to Dark Mode, or vice versa.
#4 - Things
One of my favorite macOS Mojave apps for project tracking and to-do lists, Things 3.7 came out today with Dark Mode support (Learn How To Disable SIP on macOS Mojave). Like Bear, Things lets you jump between its light and dark options regardless of what your Mac's overall theme is set to.
#5 - Airmail 3
Airmail's multi-pane view is extremely flexible, letting you use a unified inbox that you can reduce to a single column that sits on the side of your screen (How To Uninstall Creative Cloud Mac). You can also go big, with a full three-column view for accounts, messages and message content. Either way you go, it'll look at home in Dark Mode after today's update (How To Uninstall Chrome Mac).
