Today, Twitter are starting to roll out a new look of Twitter.com on its official blog. We've been hearing rumblings of a redesigned Twitter.com for months, but it's finally here. We got soothing feeling when we switched from the old Twitter to its new design - a refreshed and revamped website that is faster, cleaner, easy to browse and more personalized.

From our quick and short view on the new look of Twitter.com, we noticed many changes have been involved. Apart from the cleaner and personalized aesthetics, here are some key functionality changes mentioned by Twitter's designed:

More of What's Happening: Twitter've brought over Explore to bring the same great content found in apps. Get context with profile information within conversations and check out your Top Trends in any view so you never miss what's happening.

Easy Access to Your Favorite Features: Bookmarks, Lists, and your Profile are right up front and have their own spot on the side navigation, making it easier and faster to jump between different tabs.

Direct Messages All in One Place: Direct Messages have been expanded so you can see your conversations and send messages all from the same view. Now there’s less hassle switching between screens to send a message.

Login, Logout Struggle No More: Whether you have one profile or a few, now you’re also able to switch between accounts faster, directly from the side navigation; your stan, foodie and cat meme accounts thank you.

Make Twitter Yours: The love is real for dark mode themes Dim and Lights Out. You've asked for even more ways to personalize Twitter so we're bringing you different themes and color options, along with two options for dark mode.

Twitter for Mac is Coming Back This Summer

Last month, Apple announced Project Catalyst for macOS 10.15 Catalina, which makes it easy for developers to bring their iPad projects to macOS as native Mac apps. We are excited to hear that Twitter team will bring the new Twitter for Mac in this summer - apparently soon.

Historically, Twitter had a Mac app that shared the same roots as our iPhone app. Over the years, Twitter for Mac and Twitter for iOS diverged as Twitter increasingly focused on its mobile apps.

The Bottom Line

The new design of Twitter is rolling out gradually now, but you don't automatically have it yet. To start this new journey, click on your avatar and select "Try the new Twitter." Be warned: once you switch, you can't go back.
